It’s hard to believe this day is here, but after 45 years in accounting, I’m hanging up my calculator and spreadsheets.
I’ve been fortunate to spend my career in a field that truly resonated with me. I’ve always enjoyed the precision, the logic and the satisfaction of finding all the puzzle pieces and putting them together. I’ve witnessed a lot of changes in the industry over the years, from manual records and paper files to sophisticated software and paper less files. However, the core principals, the dedication to accuracy and the commitment to financial integrity have always remained constant.
What I’ll remember most, though, are the people. To my colleagues, thank you. Thank you for the camaraderie, the shared challenges and the laughs that we’ve shared. We’ve navigated audits, tax seasons, and everything in between, and I couldn’t have asked for a better team to work alongside. I will always value the relationships I’ve formed along the way.
To my clients, it’s been a privilege to serve you. Your trust in me and in our team has always been deeply appreciated and I feel you are more than clients and have become friends.
As I close this chapter, I’m looking forward to the next adventure. There’s a long list of things I plan to do, from spending more time with my family to working on some of the many projects I have wanted to get to.
While I’ll miss the daily interactions and the intellectual challenges of accounting, I’m excited for what’s to come. I wish you all the very best and I’ll be making sure to stop by from time to time to do some catching up.
